SOLD-OUT - Holidays and melodies: what, when and why?
Our Hangadó Senior series is aimed at all ages, and is designed to act as a club, playfully narrating a chapter of music history through an hour-long interactive journey through time. The target audience is seniors, but of course everyone is welcome to join us for a cup of tea. Our afternoon club session will look at classical music and genres associated with the festivals of the year. What, why and when do we play?
We will look at the musical traditions of the festivals of the calendar year. Just as in folk music, there are 'must' pieces of music in the classical genres that have their place in the order of the year. Famous tunes, significant days and a little bit of interest about each! We can spend a pleasant Friday afternoon together, listening to music, singing and playing quizzes, while hearing more anecdotes.
The lecture will be given by Dóra Tápai, conductor, secondary school teacher and music teacher at the House of Music, Hungary.
The lecture will be held in Hungarian.
Our series Hangadó Senior is especially aimed at older participants, but of course we welcome anyone who is interested. The aim of the series is to act as a club and to playfully tell a chapter of music history in an hour-long interactive journey through time.
