Peca
The Peca group was founded in 2023 in Budapest by Barna Gábos, who taught himself to play music at a young age with unwavering dedication. Though they have released three albums – with long breaks in between – Peca are fundamentally a concert band, uniquely capable of forming mutual connections through the music of different cultures. In addition to Hungarian folk music, they also give significant space to traditional West-African influences, afrobeats and Latin music, not to mention the full spectrum of Eastern European and Balkan music. This broad repertoire has an inspirational effect on the members of the group, who each represent different styles, from ethno to Gypsy and world music. They play dynamic, percussion-based music that features both instrumental tracks and vocal numbers.
