SOLD-OUT - The Brunswick Mystery: Who was Beethoven's Mysterious Lover?

Ludwig van Beethoven visited the Brunsvik Castle in Martonvásár on several occasions. There are bad rumours that there was a good reason for this, not just that he was teaching young ladies to play the piano, but rather that it was for personal reasons! Two Brunsvik girls are also suspects in the search for the identity of the Immortal Beloved to whom Beethoven wrote so many letters of sincere love. Josephine was twenty years old, Teresa twenty-four when they first met. Which girl has captivated this brilliant composer, who had a reputation for being morose and unfriendly? Literature, history and music. All this can be enjoyed together at the Hangadó Senior Club, where the session concludes with a musical quiz.

The lecture will be given by Dóra Tápai, conductor, secondary school teacher and music teacher at the House of Music Hungary.

The lecture will be held in Hungarian.

Our series Hangadó Senior is especially aimed at older participants, but of course we welcome anyone who is interested. The aim of the series is to act as a club and to playfully tell a chapter of music history in an hour-long interactive journey through time.
