Gáspár Thorpe - Bence Babcsán: NARUN

Caspar Thorpe and Bence Babcsán, already respected individual musicians, exploded as a duo on the Budapest folk and World Music scene in the spring of 2024.

Their first joint compositions, entitled Sundown, launched an ever-expanding repertoire of new work and arrangements drawn from Hungarian and Balkan folk melodies. They create a complex, vibrant, diverse musical universe, a natural world where listeners immerse themselves in a wide and elaborate variety of moods and themes. Capturing the essence of the folk soundscape, their music navigates from the intimate and atmospheric through the rhythmic, to the light and humorous. There is even dance music. In future, as well as their duo concerts, they plan exciting collaborations with musicians from the broader Hungarian and international music scene.
