IN PARI – Dance and Music #1

This programme is held in Hungarian.

IN PARI is a series in which music is paired with different art forms – in pairs, equally, as the title of the series suggests. This time, after five evenings focusing on the connection between music and text, and four evenings focusing on the connection between music and image, music and dance come together for the first time. The movements of dancer Bea Egyed are paired with the music of two double bassists, Ernő Hock and Róbert Benkő. As is customary in the IN PARI series, the performers prepare for improvisation and react to each other's performances. The dramaturgy of the evening is shaped by the back-and-forth effect, and by the end of the production, we are left with the impression that the genres were on equal footing, rather than in a subordinate relationship. The curator of the IN PARI series is Albert Márkos.
