Scott Lavene (UK)
Scott Lavene, a British singer-songwriter, invites the audience to an evening with a unique atmosphere, where music and storytelling form an almost inseparable whole. The songs of the Essex performer evoke the world of characters pushed to the margins of everyday life: night wanderers, small-town dreamers, and lost souls come to life in his raw yet poetic lyrics. His music moves on the border between indie folk and post-punk, while his performance style is direct and conversational – as if we were listening to short stories embedded in melodies. The evening opens with the JUCIHUNOR DUO, a special Hungarian musical formation created through the collaboration of two well-known musicians: Juci Németh and Hunor G. Szabó.
Lavene’s career really took off in the late 2010s, when his early songs quickly attracted attention for their unique character portrayals and dark humor. His debut album, Broke (2019), was praised for its honesty and literary quality, and his later records – including Milk City Sweethearts and Disneyland in Dagenham – further strengthened his reputation. His latest album, Cars, Buses, Bedsits and Shops, presents a mature yet consistently candid voice that is at once melancholic and ironic.
During the Acoustic Songs and Stories tour, Lavene takes to the stage in an intimate setting, where the focus is on the songs and the stories told between them. With two vintage acoustic guitars, subtle humor, and his distinctive, British-tinged world, he creates a sense of closeness that immediately captivates the listener.
This concert is not merely a musical experience, but a glimpse into a peculiar yet familiar universe – with honest, sometimes unsettling, but always deeply human stories.
