Brunchtime Concert – Focus on Young Composers

One of the House of Music Hungary’s longest-running concert series, Lunchtime Concerts, which introduces emerging musicians to audiences during the lunch break, returns as part of this year’s Transparent Sound New Music Festival at an unusual time and with an especially distinctive programme. At our morning Brunchtime Concert, the Germany-based Ensemble Track3 will perform works by three young composers currently studying at the Liszt Academy of Music: Zsófi Persányi, Nadin Varga and Emma Nagy.
The trio’s combination of clarinet, viola and piano offers a remarkably wide range of timbral and sonic possibilities, and the programme explores this diversity through solo, duo and trio works alike. Alongside pieces by the three Hungarian composers, the ensemble will also perform a work from its own repertoire: La distanza tra le mani by Italian composer Maria Vittoria Agresti.
Since 2020, the Transparent Sound New Music Festival has organised its Next Generation concerts, providing a platform for young composers who are still studying or have only recently graduated. An important part of the series is the collaborative process leading up to each concert: the emerging composers work closely with international performers, making the rehearsal period an opportunity not only to gain valuable professional experience but also to build new artistic connections.
