Getdown Services is one of the most exciting, funniest and, live, most entertaining fresh dance‑punk bands on the British music scene, arriving at the House of Music with their second album, released in August 2026. Celebrated in Great Britain as the best new band, the duo touches down in Hungary on their first European tour, and we’re lucky with them, because we can catch them at the very moment when, after their sold‑out UK tour, the world is also starting to take notice of their unpredictable and irresistible live show.
The Bristol duo, inspired by disco, the music of the eighties and classic rock, began writing songs and released their first record, the 2023 album Crisps, on a small local label. By 2024 they were already filling smaller British venues and the good word about their concerts was spreading by word of mouth. In 2025 they played one of the best shows at the UK’s biggest festival, Glastonbury, so their second album, Massive Champion, released in August 2026, was preceded by serious anticipation – not to mention their autumn tour, many stops of which are already sold out, in some cases for several nights in advance. So we can catch a highly promising band at the best possible moment, as their new album invites us to dance with numerous catchy, energetic tracks. Massive Champion is a sweeping blend of anarchic joy, subversive humour and boundless energy, on which lifelong friends Josh Law and Ben Sadler dive even deeper into the distinctive world they have built over the last five years, while exploring new emotional and lyrical territory. As The Guardian put it, their music, which processes modern British life in a chaotic, high‑energy way, sits somewhere at the intersection of rave, satire and social commentary – and is winning them more and more fans around the world.
