In Advent, in the atrium of the House of Music, Hungary, we can listen in on the Christmas songs of many peoples. What would you say if this music were to fly up onto the stage and sweep us away from sunrise to sunset? We could find ourselves dropped into the festive bustle of our Jamaican, Peruvian, Portuguese, Egyptian Coptic Christian, or even Polish brothers and sisters. Of course, we will also choose from our domestic favourites so that we can sing together and prepare our hearts for the feast of overflowing joy! Musical games, ethnographic curiosities, demonstrations of special instruments, and the virtuoso playing of musicians connected from many different genres spice up this fabulous festive concert, during which we naturally will not forget about Saint Nicholas either!
The latest thematic series of the highly successful crossover band of the House of Music, Hungary helps families to tune into the festive season. And not just in any way! Masters of various musical genres such as Béla Ágoston, multi-instrumentalist musician and founder of Zuboly; Sára Bolyki, folk singing teacher at the Liszt Academy and singer of Jazzation; László Heigl, the excellent double bassist known from the Misztrál Ensemble and other bands; Gergely Tar – percussion teacher at the PEMA University of Popular Music; Áron Tálas, young virtuoso of jazz piano; and László Szlama – lute and zither teacher at the Liszt Academy, Young Master of Folk Arts – have joined together to make music under the leadership of Anna Gulyás, singer and music educator of the House of Music, Hungary! Music spanning times, eras, peoples, and genres, with charming games tailored to the ears of little ones: a true, subtle festive tuning of the soul!
