Love Tales
synthesis of the arts
Love Tales
This programme is held in Hungarian.
The uniqueness of this groundbreaking, genre-bending evening lies in the fusion of archaic musical folklore genres with avant-garde movement theater and improvisation.
Fatima Szalay (vocals)
Krisztián Gergye (contemporary dance)
amor fati (music)
The musical backbone consists of folk ballads, sung tales, and old love songs. These are accompanied by traditional and experimental musical accompaniment performed by singer Fatima Szalay and her band, amor fati. Krisztián Gergye, director, choreographer, dancer, performer, and prominent representative of Hungarian contemporary movement theater, creates a unity with the music through his dance. Dance and music narrate as equals; neither merely illustrates, but both represent.
