String Quartets in Pairs: Joseph Haydn x Ádám Kondor
String Quartets in Pairs: Joseph Haydn x Ádám Kondor
This programme is held in Hungarian.
The interwoven performance of Joseph Haydn and Ádám Kondor's string quartets sheds unique light on the relationship between classical and contemporary music: the two works alternate movement by movement, contrasting and complementing each other, telling parallel stories. But how can these musical narratives enrich each other with new interpretations? Can we hear the difference of more than two centuries, or does timelessness come to the fore? The Sonus Cordis Quartet (Eszter Krulik, Róza Lachegyi – violin, Kata Koppán – viola, Flóra Matuska – cello) gives us the opportunity to listen to Haydn's music in a new context, while Kondor's piece proves that even unfamiliar soundscapes can provide an extremely direct experience if we allow them to affect us.
