Bartók 1914
Bartók 1914
Béla Bartók’s travels through the Hungarian counties of Maros-Torda in April 1914 was his last chance to record folk music before World War I broke out. The war and other historical events that would ensue a few months later completely erased the world of folk music as it was when he recorded it. It is this musical material that is commemorated by the Bartók 1914 program. Hosted by the Magos Group, a band specializing in music from the region, the event also includes special guests Ágnes Langer and Balázs Fülei, both Transylvanian musicians. The program is brought to you by Müpa as a joint project with the House of Music, Hungary as part of the Bartók Spring International Arts Week.
According to current regulations, from March 7, 2022, it is no longer obligatory to wear a mask when visiting the House of Music Hungary. Concerts, programs and exhibitions can be attended without a vaccination certificate or card.
Nevertheless we still encourage you to wear a mask during concerts. All current rules are subject to change based on the all-time rules and regulations of the government. We kindly ask you to check all current regulations for your event on our website before your visit in each case.
