At the European Museum Academy (EMA) annual awards ceremony held in Budapest in September 2025, the Hungarian House of Music received the Professional Audience Award. The institution’s music education programme was named among the top four nominees for the DASA Award, which recognises outstanding educational programmes, and it was also shortlisted for the Luigi Micheletti Award, which honours exceptional permanent exhibitions.

In May 2025, the Hungarian House of Music received a special award at Europe’s most prestigious museum awards ceremony, the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA). The jury singled out the House of Music from among the continent’s most outstanding museums, praising its innovative and visitor-friendly approach.

The EMYA is one of the most prestigious distinctions in the European museum sector, awarded each year to institutions that transform the museum experience through innovation, social engagement, and exemplary operation. The House of Music has become a focal point not only for Hungarian audiences, but also for the international professional community thanks to these qualities.

At the annual International Travel Awards competition, partly based on public votes, the House of Hungarian Music won the title of "Europe's Most Attractive Tourist Attraction" in the autumn of 2024. Additionally, the Liget Budapest Project received two significant awards in a field featuring landmarks from over 120 countries.

At the annual international competition of the International Travel Awards, partly based on public votes, in autumn 2024, the House of Music Hungary won the ’Best Must See Attraction’ award, and the Liget Budapest Project also received two important recognitions among the field of sights of more than 120 countries.

The House of Music underground space won a silver medal at the Blooloop Awards in the US. The permanent exhibition, Sound Dimensions, is a showcase of innovative solutions from the Creative Sound Space and the Sound Dome. It was awarded second place in the Creative Technology category of the Blooloop Innovation Awards, USA.

The Highlights of Hungary awards were presented in 2022 at the Eiffel Workshop House. With around one hundred thousand public votes cast for the nominees, it was a tremendous honor for the House of Hungarian Music to secure a spot among the top eight on home ground.

In October 2022, it won another prestigious international award: The 29th World Travel Awards – the Oscars of the global travel and tourism industry – named us Europe's Leading New Tourist Attraction, 2022 through a public vote. Thank you for your votes!

The House of Music Hungary has also captivated the American architectural community, winning the Architectural Design of the Year award from the Architecture MasterPrize, the most prestigious foreign architectural competition. This has not only made the House of Music Hungary the most awarded development in Hungary, but also one of the most recognised buildings in Europe and one of the best overseas.

This year it won the special prize at the 13th Portfolio Property Awards. At the event, the 8-member jury ranked it the most outstanding and influential real estate project of 2022, and Sou Fujimoto's creation was the only one to receive a special prize.

Another prestigious award for the House of Music Hungary came from one of the most important property trade fairs in Germany. The Iconic Award, awarded from the German Design Council, was presented at a ceremony at Expo Real in Munich. The House of Music Hungary, designed by Sou Fujimoto, has thus been ranked among the world's top buildings at two of the most prestigious real estate trade fairs.

The House of Hungarian Music won the "Tourist Attraction of the Year 2022" award, selected by the professional jury of Szallas.hu, out of 7,300 exciting attractions.

In the autumn of 2020, the House of Music Hungary won the award for "The World's Best Real Estate Development for Music" at the Music Cities Awards in the USA. The building was ranked in the top three in its category as the best European development and won the top prize in the "Best Use of Music in Property Development/Real Estate" category.

The House of Music Hungary won the Grand Jury Prize at the MIPIM in Cannes, "#real estate Oscars," the world's largest and most prestigious real estate exhibition! The moment when an international professional jury put the House of Music Hungary at the forefront of a field of the world's best buildings, unanimously voting to award it the Jury's Grand Prize was truly historic.

In December 2019, The House of Music Hungary was named "Europe's Best Public Building" for the first time, and then won the "Best International Public Building" award at the one of the most prestigious international property competitions, the International Property Awards.

CNN and the World Architecture Community (WAC) named it as one of the most anticipated new buildings of 2021.

Time out magazine named the House of Music Hungary as the world’s 2nd most exciting venue on its list of must-see cultural venues for 2022.
