Once, in the mid-1980s, Béla Szerényi was talking to the last of the lowland farmers who regaled him with stories about what it had been like in the old days to play music with their fathers, brothers and children. Who would have thought that three decades later the natural order of passing on traditions from father to son would be realised, and the Szerényi family would be a shining example of this. The essence of this handed-down knowledge, the musical world of the Southern Great Plain, and the thousand-year history of the hurdy-gurdy, will bear fruit at this House of Music Hungary concert.
