Freddie-The Exhibition

Freddie – In memory of the 40th anniversary of the legendary Budapest concert

In the spring of 2026, the House of Music Hungary and World of Freddie will present, for the first time, the personal story of Freddie Mercury as you have never seen it before!

Alongside plenty of original artefacts – stage costumes, personal items, pieces of furniture and manuscripts – the exhibition will recall Freddie’s lesser-known, more personal side through stories and memories recounted by colleagues and friends that have never been heard before.

Freddie - The Exhibition will present the journey of the rock star from the iconic public figure to the real Freddie Mercury, across nine thematic spaces: from his musical rise and most memorable concerts – including the legendary 1985 Live Aid performance – through his behind-the-scenes personality, creative work and social life, to his private moments at home. The exhibition also takes a glimpse into Freddie’s favourite habits and passions. The journey concludes with an exploration of his final years and the enduring legacy he left behind.

Visitors will be accompanied by Peter Freestone, Freddie Mercury’s personal assistant for over 10 years, who appears in both audio and video form to share his own stories and enrich the experience of this fantastic collection of memorabilia.
