Artist Talk Between Balázs Neumann and Helga Kolti
The Neumann Balázs Trio, led by jazz pianist, composer and arranger Balázs Neumann, released their album 'Szavaknál több' in 2022, on which they set to music poems by Hungarian poetry giants. In addition, Balázs Neumann won the main prize at the 2022 Poetry Festival with his piece Éjféli fürdés, composed to a poem by János Pilinszky. Before the concert, the artist talks to Helga Kolti about the motivation behind the album, the relationship between poetry and music, and whether the genre has a raison d'être or an audience.

The Neumann Balázs Trio, led by the jazz pianist, composer and arranger Balázs Neumann, released their More than Words album in 2022, on which they set to music verses from the giants of Hungarian poetry. If there were not enough, Balázs Neumann won the main prize at the 2022 Versünnep with his piece Éjféli fürdés (Midnight Swim), composed to a poem by János Pilinszky. This composition will of course also be performed at the concert, as well as the other songs from the album based on poems by Ágnes Nemes Nagy, Árpád Tóth, Gyula Juhász, Dezső Kosztolányi, Endre Ady and Attila József, by the Trio and the singers and musicians who performed on the album.
According to current regulations, from March 7, 2022, it is no longer obligatory to wear a mask when visiting the House of Music Hungary. Concerts, programs and exhibitions can be attended without a vaccination certificate or card.
