Csillagkapu

Sándor Csoóri, a two-time Kossuth Prize winner and two-time József Attila József Prize-winning Hungarian poet awarded the title of Artist of the Nation, is a production based on collected children's poems published in 2018. The poems are dramatized by the traditions of our folk culture and our traditions linked to the cyclicality of the calendar year.

The playmaker Péter Novák, the peacock presenter of the Landed, guides the children's audience in space and time: How many days are there in a year? What is a good calendar for? What seasons do we know? What about holidays? The framework of the performance unfolds unnoticed as the actors enter the playground from the audience; the Peacock's folk music, folk dance talent search actors have landed. His poems, which are connected to the seasons, folk customs, family and memories of Csoóri, are sometimes sung, sometimes made to music, sometimes prose, taught in our ornate mother tongue about the liveliness of traditions and the beauties of their lives.
