István Baló Projekt - Guest: Mihály Dresch
István Baló’s decades-long musical track record includes performances and recordings with many groups, including: Dimenzió, the Binder Quartet, the Dresch Quartet, György Szabados and the Makuz Ensemble, the Borbély Workshop, Nigun and the Miklós Lukács Cimbiózis Trio. In 2015, he founded his own band, the István Baló Project, based on his own ideas and those of his fellow musicians; after a few years, the project expanded to include new formations: "W69" draws on the power of rock, and "Muflon4" plays with the possibilities that electronic sound provides. Since 2015, the group has released five CDs (The István Baló Project, Folyó a medrében [River in its bed], Black Dog, Live at the Opus, Tavaszi szél [Spring breeze]), and the concert on 17 June will feature the "acoustic" band line-up created in 2015: In addition to the ensemble’s eponymous drummer, István Baló, the band will feature Krisztián Ördög on saxophone, Sámuel Baló on piano and Péter Ajtai on double bass, as well as a special guest: Mihály Dresch, one of the most prominent wind musicians on the Hungarian music scene.
