Szalóki Ági Band - album launch concert
Ági Szalóki has made five solo albums for adults over nearly 20 years. During these years, she has given more than 600 concerts with her children's band in Hungary and in Hungarian communities abroad. The album, to be released on 20 August, is her fifth album for children. On the album, Ági and her fellow musicians take the children on a journey to the musical world of Hungarian and Boyash Roma folk song arrangements and sung poems.
They explore this little known but exciting world with the help of invited guest artists, who will play instruments typical of the era. From the beginning, the orchestra has remained true to its principles: respect for children is expressed through attention to both children and musical sophistication. The new album features folk tales, archaic folk prayers, sayings and traditional children's songs and roundelays.
