Music lovers heading to the House of Music on the mornings of June 20 and 21, or just strolling around the building, can enjoy a truly special experience, as a real legend, Szabolcs Szőke – who celebrated his 75th birthday in 2023 at the House of Music to a full house – will be playing music, busking on the street. The Artisjus Award-winning instrumentalist and composer Szabolcs Szőke has, for more than 40 years, as a soloist in various bands (Kolinda, Makám, Tin-Tin Q, etc.), proven on countless recordings and at domestic and international festivals and concerts that, especially as a gadulka player and composer, he is a deeply committed devotee of Balkan and Eastern music. In this unusual situation, among the trees of City Park – on these mornings – we will be able to hear his works, which are deeply imbued with the influences of these cultures, and of course perhaps some unexpected music as well.
