SOLD OUT - Cimbalom Salon: József Csurkulya Jr., Ivan Curtean
Launched in summer 2022, our Cimbalom Salon series always features two prestigious cimbalom artists performing together. On this occasion, Târgu Mures-born cimbalom player József Csurkulya Jnr., and Moldavaian born Ivan Curtean, that is, a Transylvanian Hungarian musician and a Moldovan musician will play an unusual repertoire together, created especially for this concert.
The cimbalom is a versatile instrument that is intrinsically linked to Hungarian culture and can be used in almost any musical genre. In our Cimbalom Salon series, we present a wide range of musical styles that are or can be played on the cimbalom, with some help from outstanding cimbalom players from Hungary and abroad who typically perform in pairs, i.e., as cimbalom duos. As with our other traditional concerts, this often brings together performers who have never previously performed together, so they bring a brand-new programme especially edited for the House of Music. This is why József Csurkulya Jnr. and Ivan Curtean, who are performing together for the very first time at the House of Music, will be playing a completely exclusive programme.
According to current regulations, from March 7, 2022, it is no longer obligatory to wear a mask when visiting the House of Music Hungary. Concerts, programs and exhibitions can be attended without a vaccination certificate or card.
Nevertheless we still encourage you to wear a mask during concerts. All current rules are subject to change based on the all-time rules and regulations of the government. We kindly ask you to check all current regulations for your event on our website before your visit in each case.
