They Wrote the Song for Us! - Exclusive Exhibition #3: Tamás Rupaszov (Trottel)
Since 1982, Tamás Rupaszov has been an inescapably and constantly active participant on the Hungarian music scene with the Trottel Orchestra. Between the Trottel's early days, 1982-83, and the present era from November '85, he also prepared the ground in Hungary for hardcore with the Marina Revue formation in 1984-85. The bassist-songwriter not only led his own band – which was constantly searching for new sounds that ranged from post-punk art rock to instrumental crossover to folk electronic experimentation – but also his hugely influential and eponymous label, Trottel Records, even in the 1980s. Thus, from the perspective of punk and underground culture, Tamás Rupaszov has earned his place in the exhibition: "They Wrote that Song for Us! The Golden Age and Social Impact of Hungarian Pop Music, from 1957 to the Change of Political System at the House of Music Hungary.
The exhibition is open, from 18:15 to those with a valid ticket for the event and the discussion and music start at 19:30.
