Antal Gojma Kovács, the legendary Romani dancer and musician known from Romano Drom and Ando Drom, passed away 21 years ago. To mark last year’s milestone anniversary, his family, the band Romano Drom (Antal Kovács, Máté A. Kovács, Krisztián Kovács) decided to establish and launch the Gojma Award in an unconventional and tradition-setting manner. They are searching for the country’s most dynamic Romani dancer who best embodies the spirit of Gojma. Following last year’s highly successful talent search and gala show, they have raised the bar even higher this year to organize the country’s largest national Romani dance competition, as well as a three-day major event in conjunction with it at the House of Music.
