Music in the Movies - Who’s Ever Seen Such a Thing?
In the closing episode of the third season of the informative open-university lecture series Zene a Moziban, we're taking on no less a task than summarizing the most important film-music essentials from romanticism all the way to abstraction. This time, however — instead of a dry content summary and testing — we'll place greater emphasis than ever on the practical application of the material presented and will methodically, step by step, completely troll the film-music phenomena we recall together. We'll transplant the musical effect-systems of well-known film scenes into completely unfamiliar situations, sometimes with an eye for accuracy, sometimes with deliberate inaccuracy, thereby creating lovesick monsters, terrifying lovers, softened western heroes, bloodthirsty fairy tales, or even a lyrical space battle. All this so we can gain a more comprehensive picture of what can happen to a film when it "gets music".
If you've never attended one of these lectures before, here's a great chance to catch up; if you've been to every single one, you can now, as an initiate, show off your knowledge — provided you want to.
The lecture is (as always) interactive and ticketed, but in this case the ticket can be purchased in advance. Who has ever seen such a thing? 🙂
