St John Passion Differently: by PODIUM Esslingen
The House of Music Hungary’s Lenten programme offers this contemporary adaptation of an iconic work: a new arrangement of Bach's St. John Passion. An unconventional yet respectful handling of the work, it has resulted in an intense and engaging experience served up in a chamber music format. Icelandic tenor Benedikt Kristjánsson tells the Gospel story and also voices the characters, while Elina Albach brings the orchestral parts to life on the harpsichord and organ with Philipp Lamprecht on percussion.
