Program series
Concert at lunchtime! Lunch at a concert!
The House of Music's latest series – Lunchtime concerts – means you can enjoy short concerts by young talents at lunchtime. This series features music from students of the Academy of Music, and the 35-minute mini-concerts are complemented by a meal.
The aim of the series is to draw attention to one of the most important parts of Hungarian heritage, the Roma music of the cafés, which sadly is increasingly neglected nowadays.
In our talent showcase programme, in partnership with the Hangfoglaló Programme, bands and singer-songwriters selected for the Start-up Performers sub-programme can be seen in free concerts during the summer.
This programme is held in Hungarian.
Our special Hangadó Senior series, entitled Musical Landscapes. It is linked to our temporary exhibition "Musical Journey Around the World". We look at the great folk music landscapes of the Carpathian Basin. Ethnography, folk dance, folk music, customs, we "travel" to many magical landscapes that hold secrets unknown to many, in a 90-minute interactive performance. For the first time, Sándor Petőfi's lines will be our guide, as we explore the typical dances, folk music and art of the region so beloved by the poet!
This programme is held in Hungarian.
The highly successful Salsa in the Park dance program will entertain Latin music enthusiasts this summer and early fall on the Outdoor Stage of the House of Music. At the free events in 2025, alongside the Budapest-based Son tres band, José DJ Cuba's Latin sets and Bea's dance lessons will expand the program. The DJ sets and band blocks will alternate.
The programme is held in Hungarian.
The fourth season of the country's bravest musical board game, Vibe Changers, began at the Outdoor Stage of the House of Music! This unique venture combines a club night series and a talent show, created by Budapest's two most renowned improvisation teams with great success in 2022. The love child of Random Trip and Seven Seconds In the Future is a fusion of an improvisational concert and an open mic night. Moreover, the event series is free this year!
The Night of the Museums 2025 will take place on 21 June 2025 in Hungary, with cultural programmes, exhibitions, concerts, interactive events and many more surprises awaiting visitors to the country's biggest cultural event on this special summer night!
We are welcoming the whole family to our outdoor stage with ever more exciting concerts, performances and activities at 10:30 every Saturday throughout the summer! Our series is not only dedicated to a wide variety of musical genres – from jazz through Hungarian and African folk music to classical music – but also to some great artists who may be less familiar to the general public but who really deserve more attention.
