DOME_RELOAD
From 14 January, the completely renovated Sound Dome will reopen with a full programme for the House of Music's unique, immersive cinematic room, where works made especially for the hemispherical screen are transformed into a true spatial experience. On the occasion of the reopening, visitors can look forward to DOME_RELOAD, an ambitious audiovisual programme series from 14 to 19 January. The main events include the RE_LIVE screenings, accompanied by an audience encounter, and the premiere screening of The Mysterious City Park.
DOME_RELOAD 14-19 January 2025 From 14 January, the Sound Dome, the House of Music Hungary’s now completely upgraded unique, immersive cinema hall that transforms works projected onto the hemispherical screen into a true spatial experience, will reopen full-time. Thanks to the comprehensive overhaul, you can now enjoy an even more vivid, 360-degree cinematic experience – only at the House of Music!
On the occasion of the reopening of the Sound Dome, we are hosting a large-scale audiovisual festival between 14 and 19 January. Premiering in collaboration with Fortepan as part of the DOME_RELOAD programme is The Mysterious City Park, which offers insight into the exciting history of the park. Along with this new work, there will also be screenings of earlier ones returning to the Sound Dome, each combined with an audience encounter, ranging from the film by Dávid Szauder and Dávid Somló, to Platon Karataev’s award-winning 360-degree video Sunbound and Tibor Szemző’s Csoma Kaleidoscope, to The Intergalactic Gateway showing how the Dome operates and experimental films set to the music of György Ligeti. Additional screenings at the opening festival will feature a “Best of” selection of the most popular films. Starting with this re-opening festival, the renewed Sound Dome 360 cinema will host several screenings every day, ranging from nature and art history films to short animated videos and contemporary abstract experimental works. This is definitely something you should experience at least once!
