DOME_RE_LIVE – Dávid Szauder: One's profession is intelligence DOME_RELOAD
From 14 January, the completely renovated Sound Dome will reopen with a full programme for the House of Music's unique, immersive cinematic room, where works made especially for the hemispherical screen are transformed into a true spatial experience. On the occasion of the reopening, visitors can look forward to DOME_RELOAD, an ambitious audiovisual programme series being held from 14 to 19 January. The main events include the RE_LIVE screenings, accompanied by an audience encounter, and the premiere screening of The Mysterious City Park. Though artificial intelligence has existed for almost four decades, its development has accelerated at nearly incomprehensible speed over the past 18 months to 2 years. It’s hard to know whom and what to believe. Both the arts and artists themselves can expect to be impacted by this marvellous new digital age. So it’s time to take a deep breath, fasten our seatbelts and spend the next 20 minutes letting artificial intelligence reinterpret the art of the past 2000 years. Imagine the Greek temples of antiquity being built by robots, dancing Roman statues, Byzantine mosaics populated by fighting Star Wars characters instead of martyrs, Botticelli’s Venus emerging from an ice cream cone, and what Bosch’s altar would look like in a zero gravity world. Quite the sea change, right? While intended partly as entertainment, the video montage also helps visitors understand what artificial intelligence can be used for, if we have the courage not to fear it.
Duration: 20 minutes
This screening is recommended for visitors aged 7 and above
