With a special, career-spanning concert, Bea Palya is celebrating her fiftieth birthday. The evening will be a sung journey through the most important milestones of her career so far: songs will be heard from virtually all of Bea’s albums, and what’s more, in a one-off set list that the audience has never before heard in this form.
The atmosphere of Egyszálének, Psyché, Adieu les complexes, Ezeregy szefárd éjszaka, Ribizliálom, Nő, Tovább nő, Nappali dalok, Hazatalálok, LéleKzet, Élet, Tüzet viszek and Fénydalok will be conjured up – and a brand-new song will also be premiered.
“Aki egyszer útnak indul…” (“Once You Set Out on a Journey…”) is not simply a look back, but the beginning of yet another journey. It is a story about the first fifty years, about continuous change, and about that inner strength which carries a person forward: their feet, their heart and their voice toward the next fifty years.
The evening is the crowning event of the year-long PB50 celebration series. We are not only celebrating Bea Palya’s career, but everything her work represents: the freedom of the voice, the individual and communal power of singing, authentic self-expression, fulfillment in womanhood, and the healing power of songwriting.
