David Yengibarian Trio
Global Music
Szervezés:
Armenian David Yengibarian continued his musical studies in Hungary from 1995 onward, and over time became one of the country’s most sought-after jazz and world music performers and composers. The main source of inspiration for his unique, folk music-inspired musical world is the Armenian musical tradition, European and American jazz and improvisational music, Argentine tango, and the music of Astor Piazzolla, who reinvented the genre. Yengibarian’s trio is characterized by its improvisational, evocative and emotionally rich performances. In addition to releasing seven albums of his own, he has contributed to recordings by numerous other artists and composed music for many theater productions, as well as for films.
In recent years, they have often performed with outstanding Hungarian and international guests, such as Miklós Lukács, Tony Lakatos and Gevorg Dabaghyan. In the summer of 2023, they also gave a successful concert ahead of Norah Jones as part of VeszprémFest. The David Yengibarian Trio’s repertoire consists primarily of original compositions, complemented by Armenian, Balkan or Latin songs in their distinctive style.
