Concert
Szervezés:
In our live music series DOME_SPATIAL, which takes place in the space of the Sound Dome and makes use of its unique audio system, this time composer and sound artist of Georgian origin Mariam Gviniashvili will perform her captivating program, Re: Space, which moves sounds through space.
Mariam Gviniashvili is a composer and sound artist whose work spans electroacoustic and instrumental music, spatial sound, and multimedia. At the heart of her work are the physical and emotional dimensions of sound and space; she often combines visual elements with live performance in her creations.
Of Georgian origin, Gviniashvili sang and played the piano from childhood, then studied composition at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, and the Norwegian Academy of Music. Her diverse musical background is reflected in both her acoustic and electronic works, and informs her wide-ranging artistic and thematic interests.
Her program Re:Space is a live electronic music performance that uses the real-time positioning and movement of sounds in space as compositional and performance tools. The project explores how the spatial movement and distribution of sounds can be combined with sound synthesis, creating constantly changing, dynamic spatial sound textures.
The production was developed through artistic residencies as part of the Spatial Audio Network Europe: at 4DSOUND in Amsterdam, Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden, and Notam in Oslo. The sound system on which the performance is based was adapted to different acoustic environments and speaker configurations during presentations at IRCAM, Hellerau, ZiMMT, and Effenaar.
