One of the most excitingly experimental acts in electronic dance music, the British duo comprising Rob Brown and Sean Booth formed in 1987. A pioneering group whose music continues to influence the genre, they have released numerous albums over the years that have become milestones in intelligent dance music (IDM). Setting off on an international tour (The TwentyTwentySix) this February, Autechre will perform in countries including Japan, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, and will offer audiences a unique sonic experience at festivals such as Lunchmeat, ROBOT, Reworks, and Indigo. The tour promises an unparalleled sonic journey, and the duo welcomes fans in Budapest to the House of Hungarian Music, where, of course, the concert hall will once again remain unlit. According to Sean Booth, “people have been dancing to music for thousands of years, and in most cases there wasn’t a giant LED wall there trying to blind them.”
