Freddie – the Exhibition Curatorial Guided Tour
The temporary exhibition titled Freddie pays tribute to one of the greatest rock stars of all time, Freddie Mercury. The artist, who would have turned 80 this year, gave a legendary stadium concert in Hungary forty years ago with his band Queen; this was the first massive rock event held by a Western star band behind the Iron Curtain. This double anniversary lends special relevance to the joint exhibition of World of Freddie, which preserves the memory of the global star, and the House of Music. Through several hundred original personal objects and stories, and with the help of experience-based installations, it reveals the lesser-known, human side of Freddie Mercury. During the related guided tours, the curators of the exhibition and his direct collaborators – alternating on different occasions: Gábor Szilágyi, Endre Vazul Mándli, Márton Horn and Melinda Erdőháti – introduce visitors to the secrets of the display. Behind-the-scenes stories about how certain exhibition spaces were created, fascinating details about Freddie’s personal belongings, and insights into the professional work behind the scenes.
The language of the guided tour is Hungarian; the ticket price also includes admission to the exhibition.
