The band 1st Pest Rackák is surprising not only in its name, but at least just as much in its music as well, since for them the poems of Sándor Petőfi and Attila Gérecz go just as well together with a dawn song from Kalotaszeg as with the music of Jimi Hendrix. Hungarian folk music and American rhythm & blues, funk, reggae, and hip-hop blend together so beautifully it’s as if they were made for each other. The surprising elements, however, by no means end here; it’s also worth casting an eye on the band’s lineup. Next to the starring “herfli,” that is, the harmonica, the horn, mandolin, Wurlitzer piano, and cajón also play major roles, creating such a unique sound that it can be recognized from miles away. For this, of course, it’s also necessary that one attends a Racka concert at least once in their life. Once that happens, everything else follows naturally. This is why the surprising idea was born to invite the band to the House of Music to give the first children’s concert of their lives. We are certain that their extremely energetic performance, their smiles, their humor, and their wonderful music will quickly find their way to the youngest audiences as well. And there will be nothing surprising about that.

As part of the Tuned to Children series, all bands who don't usually play for children will perform. After all, we believe that children do not have to play anything else, at most in a different way. Because honest, good music finds its way to everyone, especially to open-minded young people! So we hope that our wish will be fulfilled that the band and good music in general will be discussed not only among musicians, but also among several young people in general.
