Sound Bath
“The idea that sound as a mediator is capable of bringing the human spirit into another state of consciousness is as old as humanity itself.” (Eva Rudy Jansen)
“Close your eyes, breathe deeply. When you close your eyes, you turn your attention inward. When you turn your attention inward, you focus on yourself. This is an oasis of peace. Simply relax, rest…” (Traditional meditation text)

Folk musician Zsolt Nagy, awarded the Táncház Medal, and his wife, Brigitta Nick, invite us on a special sound journey.
Zsolt discovered the beneficial effects of meditation while recovering from a serious illness, which led him to the intimate experience of the sound bath with singing bowls. As a musician, he was immediately captivated by the world of ancient sounds. He and his first singing bowl chose each other eight years ago, and the other instruments soon followed.
Together with his wife Brigitta, who works as a pharmacist, they began to study the combined positive physiological effects of vibration and meditation—first on themselves, and soon on a few dear acquaintances as well. The positive feedback encouraged further study, and by now an enthusiastic community has formed around them. Since both of them play several instruments, their approach to playing Tibetan singing bowls is closest to a musical, tonal perspective. In an unusual setup, as partners in life as well, they work together in harmony, balancing feminine and masculine energies. In addition to traditional Tibetan singing bowls, they use numerous accessories, such as ancient Hungarian wind instruments and shaman drums.
The fusion of different cultures and the improvisational, shared breathing of the musician couple offer a unique musical and meditative experience that is definitely not to be missed!
For those purchasing lying-down tickets, please bring a yoga mat!
