The temporary exhibition titled Freddie pays tribute to one of the greatest rock stars of all time, Freddie Mercury. The artist, who would have turned 80 this year, gave a legendary stadium concert in Hungary with his band Queen forty years ago; it was the first massive rock event behind the Iron Curtain held by a Western star band. This double anniversary gives special relevance to the joint exhibition of World of Freddie, which preserves the memory of the global superstar, and the House of Music. Through several hundred original personal objects and stories, and with the help of experience-based installations, it presents the lesser-known, human side of Freddie Mercury. During the related guided tours, the curators of the exhibition and his direct collaborators – alternately Gábor Szilágyi, Endre Vazul Mándli, Márton Horn, and Melinda Erdőháti – introduce visitors to the secrets of the exhibition. Behind-the-scenes stories about how the different spaces of the exhibition were created, exciting details about Freddie’s personal belongings, and the background of the professional work.
The guided tour is in Hungarian, and the ticket price also includes admission to the exhibition.
