Duka Elemér & Gipsy Chamber Orchestra | Jakab Roland, Codruț Ionescu, Gogan Gabriel
Szervezés:
This programme is held in Hungarian.
In one show, two formations with absolutely sumptuous musicianship and atmosphere! We got to know violinist Roland Jakab in the talent show Virtuosos , where he received a special prize. He is the son of Attila Jakab from Ákosfalva, whom we already saw in 2023 at the House of Music in a terrific concert. His son, Roland Jakab, is similarly virtuosic, the most sought-after wedding musician in Romania. At the same time, his repertoire is extremely broad, ranging from Romanian and Transylvanian Gypsy music through the most difficult pieces of classical music and Transylvanian and Romanian tunes to mastery of the entire Balkan material, and even to Middle Eastern music. He performs at the highest level, both on the concert stage and at weddings, and his fellow musicians, Codruț Ionescu and Gogan Gabriel, are likewise excellent musicians. Ionescu is one of the finest saxophonists of his generation and a highly sought-after musician within Romania, while Gabriel is popular on keyboard instruments, playing as a synthesizer accompanist in numerous highly in-demand wedding bands. The other formation of the evening, Elemér Duka & Gipsy Chamber Orchestra, is a highly significant ensemble of domestic café Gypsy music. Duka is one of the most unique musicians in the Hungarian Gypsy music scene, as he plays the cello but fulfills the role of bandleader (prímás) in his ensemble. He, too, moves comfortably within a very wide repertoire. So, two great-format musicians and their bands will now share a stage for the first time, and since they are doing so, they will, of course, also play together.
