Cimbalom Salon: Vince Solymosi & Károly Vadász
Szervezés:
This programme is held in Hungarian.
The world has admired the playing of Hungarian Roma musicians since the time of Brahms and Liszt. Generations of Roma musicians have always been characterized by openness and a sensitivity to the music of other peoples. At this concert we can also be earwitnesses to this diversity.
Károly Vadász, cimbalom artist and winner of the Ferenc Liszt Prize, began his career as a member of the world‑famous Rajkó Orchestra and has become a leading figure of urban Roma music.
Vince Solymosi likewise started out in Rajkó, where he now also teaches, but later turned toward classical music, then folk music and jazz.
The encounter of cimbalom‑playing generations promises exciting pieces for lovers of urban Roma music, Balkan and Hungarian folk music, and virtuosic improvisations. The cimbalom will resound in faithful continuation of centuries‑old traditions and through the unique interplay of the two musicians.
