On this evening, atmospheric electronic sound layers, Veronika Szász’s voice, Péter Cseh’s guitar playing and Boglárka Heim’s contemporary dance meet in a shared space tuned to one another. The different artistic layers are not placed side by side, but continue within each other: sound calls forth movement, movement shapes sound, and together they shape the space in continuous response to one another.
This mutual formation is the organizing principle of Veronika Szász’s compositional thinking, which perceives presence not as a story, but as a system of changing proportions. Intensity and silence, density and spaciousness, attachment and dissolution turn into one another. The continually rearranging balance of music, body and attention creates an experiential field where the inner state and the shared space do not separate, and where identity is more of an evolving quality than a fixed form.
The electroacoustic layers of Veronika Szász’s music draw on the experiential conception of sound in musique concrète and the structural approach of Elektronische Musik. Concrete sound—born of space, touch and noise—and synthetically created sound meet in the same compositional space, where the emphasis lies on the system of relations that emerges between them: how they condense, expand, and create tension or stillness. Folk and world music, classical and sacred musical traditions, as well as improvisational jazz are built into this sonic fabric as living layers.
From this layered, flowing sonic fabric, song-like forms crystallize from time to time—moments of coherence that gather into focus, when space condenses into a personal voice. The lyrics work with simple, symbolic images and set off an inner resonance. The evening features songs in both Hungarian and English, not as translations, but as differing points of view.
This interdisciplinary programme does not work with grand gestures, but with subtle presence. The shared arc of the voice, the live guitar and movement does not close in, but holds; the silence that remains at the end is the fulfilled experience of the presence lived through together.
