Stage Call!–Gulu Gulu
Stage Call!–Gulu Gulu
This programme is held in Hungarian.
Gulu Gulu was started in 2020, when a few musician friends decided that they wanted to create something unique in a new genre of music that was not common in Hungary.
"At that time, several of us were also fascinated by the shoegaze and post-punk music of the 90s, so we started writing our own compositions along these lines, with both Hungarian and English lyrics."
Since then, they have had many successes, toured most of the clubs in Budapest, played as opening acts for Hocuspony, performed at the Bánkitó festival and their concerts and releases have become increasingly popular. In the last year, there have been some changes in the band's members, "and now we feel we have finally fully matured our sound, as evidenced by the fact that our latest EP has been highlighted by several foreign music curators and published on several platforms. What makes our work so special is that we do everything ourselves, as our band includes producers as well as musicians, so we record and produce every release ourselves. We're currently working on our next full-length album, which we think will be the band's strongest material to date, and we expect it to be out in 2025."
Covered Open-air Stage concerts
The program will be held even in rainy weather, as the Open-air Stage is largely covered.
In support of the House of Music's mission, we have launched the Fringe programme - a call for applications in three categories - for music schools and their students, hobby musicians and street musicians to perform at various venues in the House. The Up on Stage! series features talented beginner and amateur musicians who have had little opportunity to perform on a wider stage.
