MÁV Symphony Orchestra - Márk Fülep: Vuk
The program is held in Hungarian.
It is rare for a composer to decide to write a piece expressly for younger children. Yet Márk Fülep has done exactly that with his adaptation of István Fekete's classic novel, Vuk (The Little Fox). Fülep's goal is to show us that music really can tell tales and that instruments have their own language. Audience members can hear how a story can be narrated by the violin, viola, trumpet, flute, many other exciting instruments, and even an entire symphony orchestra. As well as how the prowling foxes sneak around, the wise Karak, or even the terrifying Smoothskin sound in musical form. All with the help of some of Hungary's greatest artists, including the musicians of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, the conductor Dániel Erdélyi and the actor Péter Vida, who will narrate the story for the children between the musical interludes.
See you there!
In the meantime: "I'm hunting, get out of my way!"
