Bartha Márk & Beatrix Trisha Simkó & Soharóza: Confine
Bartha Márk's new project, Peremvidék, explores the concept of limbo, transience, and border situations, organically fitting into Márk's Ensemble in Limbo project research series. During the concert, a thirty-member choir, electronic music, and movement combine to create a unique spatial experience. The piece is created in collaboration with his creative partner Simkó Beatrix, who is responsible for the movement and spatial concept. The piece places special emphasis on the relationship between sound, movement, and space, where musical and choreographic structures serve to extend space and time. The atmosphere of Peremvidék is foggy, mystical, restrained, following a minimalist aesthetic. The visuals are provided by Gábor Karcis, a visual artist, who subtly enhances the floating, transitional world of the piece with a special projection. Thus, the choir and the movement become not just performative tools but defining elements of space-time perception. The Soharóza choir has also actively contributed to the development of the musical ideas of Peremvidék, as community creation is an important tool of the research – as is generally characteristic of the Ensemble in Limbo projects.
The production was realized with the All-Arts call for proposals from the House of Music and the support of the NKA Music College.
