Móró - Vermes - Csernovszky - Frank: Terraform

"How can we transform our environment, make it habitable, and create a livable reality for ourselves? What can we do with our own resources to make our vast and concrete world habitable?"

Using the concept of terraforming—making planets and moons habitable for humans—as a starting point, the performance explores the possibilities of transforming the physical environment in the present.

Terraform is a joint research project by two composers—Márk Csernovszky and Frank Toma—and two visual artists—Nóra Vermes and Zsófia Móró—as well as four musicians, searching for a fictional livable environment. The performance is the research itself. The shaping of the environment is, on the one hand, physical and, on the other, an intervention at the level of perception and the senses: the sound elements create new relationships between humans and their environment. The visual material—animation and light compositions—simultaneously examines the continuous change of the medium, the effects of human presence, and their feedback.

The performance does not provide clear answers: it raises questions about control, adaptation, and how we can live with constantly changing environmental and political factors – whether extraterrestrially, abroad, or at home, here and now.
