Schubert NOW! - Veronika Harcsa, Anastasia Razvalyaeva, Bálint Bolcsó
Schubert's music is translated into a contemporary language by the exciting production of harpist Anastasia Razvaljajeva, singer Veronika Harcsa, and electronic composer Bálint Bolcsó. Following the 2020 release of the Debussy NOW! album, which garnered international attention and was produced by BMC Records, the artists are adapting more composers' songs into their instruments and language. The improvisations, the tones between classical and jazz singing techniques, and the live electronic effects further expand the infinite, sensuous, and hauntingly beautiful universe of Schubert's songs, while also broadening the expressive possibilities of the human voice and harp – the well-known, timeless songs transform into a true modern spatial experience in the trio's performance.
The concert hall transforms into a playground where the musicians creatively explore and immediately demonstrate what Schubert's music can mean today, here and now. We can hear the endless play of rhythm, the exuberance of timbres, or even its silent solitude, and the fantasy inherent in the succession of harmonies. Meanwhile, solitary wanderers may appear before us, or we ourselves may become wanderers as we follow the images of mountains, peaks, rivers, and seas unfolding from the songs. The songs selected from various song cycles connect with each other in the musicians' play, creating new narratives and telling new stories. The selection, also recorded on the album, enriched with improvisations, will be performed live as a unique and unrepeatable form at the Magyar Zene Háza (House of Music Hungary).
