String Quartet in F major, 'American', Op. 96
Kodály Quartet
The Kodály String Quartet, which has a history stretching back over more than five and a half decades, is one of the most renowned representatives of 20th-century Hungarian chamber music culture, both at home and around the world. In addition to their many tours, they have recorded numerous albums – including all the Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert quartets, a monumental undertaking – to much acclaim. The ensemble's work was recognised last year with the Kossuth Prize. Two pieces have been selected for this concert programme, which will appeal to fans of the genre and those new to it, regardless of their age.
Covered Open-air Stage concerts
The program will be held even in rainy weather, as the Open-air Stage is largely covered.
