In the upcoming episode of our series showcasing the more artistic side of techno, our special guest will be Deepchord, aka Rod Modell, who hails from the home of the style, Detroit. Deepchord was originally founded as a duo by Rod and Mike Schommer in the mid-1990s. After Schommer left to pursue a solo career, Modell turned Deepchord into his own alterego.
Although Deepchord's sound has been categorised as similar to Berlin's Basic Channel style, the transatlantic Detroit influence in their performances creates a truly unique world. Deepchord's records were initially released on its own record label, Echospace, but from the end of the 2000s, Rod's work has also appeared on the Astral Industries and Soma labels. Modell's debut appearance in Budapest at the House of Music will be a worthy occasion, with support from Ábris Gryllus..
