Good Evening Mr. Blues
This programme is held in Hungarian.
The well-known harmonica player in our country, Tamás Szabó, is now exploring the colored culture of the 30s and 40s with his trio Good Evening Mr. Blues, presenting the many harmonica nuances of American folk, jug, country, and blues culture. Their repertoire includes traditional old blues as well as lighter rockabilly compositions and even their own compositions. For this concert, the trio invited a very dear singer-guitarist friend, Csaba Gál "Boogie".
For the band’s sound in this lineup, he enlisted two fantastic musician colleagues to enchant the audience, Sonny (guitar, vocals) and Zoltán Paszinger “Singer” (double bass). Sonny’s name is already well known to the domestic blues audience. He has been playing at various domestic and international festivals since the age of sixteen. Being a lover of acoustic and early electronic blues, his own formation is Sonny and his Wild Cows. Due to Sonny's captivating stage presence, he is very popular abroad. He has consciously and authentically developed his unique image.
The trio’s bassist is also not unknown to the audience, as he is one of the founders of the Mystery Gang, a pillar member of the rockabilly trio for nearly 20 years. Singer's joint band with Sonny, Ed Philips and The Memphis Patrol, are popular performers at festivals.
Tamás is among the most colorful personalities in our country, playing on domestic and international stages for nearly 40 years now. In 1993, he was among the first in our country to receive the outstanding category certificate of the Harmonica World Championship held in Germany. His best-known domestic formations were the Palermo Boogie Gang and Spo-Dee-O-Dee bands. In 1997, he was the first to write a comprehensive textbook on harmonica playing with his colleagues titled Blues With The Feeling. Another important band of Tamás is Mojo, blending country and blues elements with rock and pop music in their sound. In recent years, he has mapped nearly the entire history of domestic harmonica playing from 1870 to the present day, which he has already published on several online platforms.
For this concert, the trio invited a very dear singer-guitarist friend, Csaba Gál "Boogie". Boogie is one of the truly authentic blues musical personalities in our country. His best-known formation was the Dr. Valter and the Lawbreakers band, for many years the flag bearers of domestic acoustic blues. Besides his various musical formations, he has played numerous times with each member and had many shared adventures, about which they will also tell at this concert.
