Hats Off! – Flóra Ujváry
This programme is held in Hungarian.
As part of the Fringe program, launched in 2024 to support the mission of the House of Music – under which we announce a call in three categories every year – we offer performance opportunities at various locations in the House to emerging musicians and hobby bands at the beginning of their careers, as well as street musicians, music schools, and music workshops. Hats Off! is our most informal series, in which we fill the outdoor surroundings of the House of Music, the City Park, with street musicians and the music they play. This time, Flóra Ujváry will be playing around the House and at the MusicGarden.
In Flóra Ujváry’s double bass–vocals solo project, jazz, pop, and folk music arrangements as well as her own songs are performed. The pure, intimate sound of the double bass and voice creates a direct atmosphere and easily dissolves genre boundaries.
The songs are linked by a shared pulse that exists in all music and in every person: this inner rhythm connects tradition with contemporary sound, and personal stories with familiar, collective experiences.
The songs are performed in a simple, natural way, leaving room for improvisation, silence, and musical ideas born in the moment. A concert filled with attentive presence, where performer and audience can easily find each other in the music.
Dear Visitor, We kindly inform you that during the event, photographs, audio recordings, and/or video recordings may be taken. By attending the event, you consent to the recording of such materials through your implied conduct.
