Stage Call! - Kanóc Banda

Stage Call! - Kanóc Banda
This programme is held in Hungarian.
To support the mission of the House of Music Hungary, the Fringe program, launched in 2024, issued an open call in three categories, offering performance opportunities in various parts of the House to up-and-coming musicians and hobby bands at the beginning of their careers, as well as street musicians, music schools, and music workshops. In the Take the Stage! series, talented emerging musicians and hobby music formations (bands, vocal ensembles, mixed formations, etc.) at the early stages of their careers perform, who have so far had very few opportunities to present themselves to a wider audience. This time, Kanóc Banda will give a concert on the Outdoor Stage.
Kanóc Banda was formed in August 2025, and its members come from several towns: Püspökladány, Karcag, Nyíregyháza, Pázmánd, and Nagyvárad. They play authentic Hungarian folk music, following the traditional repertoire of melodies and performance practices of the Carpathian Basin. Their rehearsals take place in Karcag and Nagyvárad. They continuously develop their musical knowledge and approach at the Méta Camp, as well as at various folk music courses and further training programs. “In addition to respect for tradition, it is important for us to create a sense of community: our goal is for folk music to sound in a living, authentic form at our concerts and dance-house events.”
Dear Visitor, We kindly inform you that during the event, photographs, audio recordings, and/or video recordings may be taken. By attending the event, you consent to the recording of such materials through your implied conduct.
Covered Open-air Stage concerts
The program will be held even in rainy weather, as the Open-air Stage is largely covered.
In support of the House of Music's mission, we have launched the Fringe programme - a call for applications in three categories - for music schools and their students, hobby musicians and street musicians to perform at various venues in the House. The Up on Stage! series features talented beginner and amateur musicians who have had little opportunity to perform on a wider stage.
