Talking Drums - Junior

This programme is held in Hungarian.

Talking Drums is a relaxed community music gathering with the most popular African percussion instrument, the djembe, in the spotlight. It is specifically aimed at families and students, offering playful tasks that give a taste of the captivating world of making music together. The program consists of an interactive instrument presentation and “educational through entertainment” community rhythm games, through which we tune in to one another and get to know the instruments of the drum circle in a playful way. We develop our focus on the “here and now,” our coordination, our attention to each other, and our sense of rhythm. Finally, together with the participants we form a spontaneous drum band and play a traditional African rhythm together. Participation requires no musical background whatsoever, only good spirits, openness, and attentiveness to one another. For this reason, we recommend our program from 6 years of age. Our goal is for as many people as possible to experience the powerful, uplifting atmosphere of folk percussion instruments and acoustic community music-making and drumming!
